Prestigious Project in North West

The new Manchester City Football Academy (CFA) has opened its doors after a five year project and boasts 16 state of the art indoor and outdoor pitches, a gym, medical centre, rehab clinic, classrooms and accommodation blocks and two thirds of the site is dedicated to youth development.

The project also sees 2,000 new mature trees being planted, 46 acres of managed grass, wildflower meadows and landscape areas.

Working with BSS Manchester and Ashworth’s on the Balfour Beatty project, Hattersley supplied all the general valves from 15mm to 300mm ball valves and gear operated butterfly valves for the project.

Dan Crosswaite, Regional Sales Manager for Hattersley, said: “This was a prestigious job within the North West of England. Together with BSS Manchester and Ashworth’s, we ensured quick and timely deliveries of the Hattersley product range.

He continued: “We also provided on-site support to the chosen sub-contractor, Willows Mechanical.”

Tony Book, City’s decorated captain and three-time manager of the club, officially opened the CFA in December 2014.
